Top 5 Favourite Harry Potter Artefacts – Collab with A Pretty Story

Today I coming back with another Collab with the lovely Quina from A Pretty Story – go and check her blog out, just like me she loves Harry Potter, Disney and Beauty.

We thought we would focus on our love for Harry Potter and share our Top 5 favourite artefacts from the Harry Potter series, so go and check Quina’s post.

It took me quite a while to compose this list as I love everything about the magical world of Harry Potter, I started reading these books when I was 9 and read the last when I was 19 so I really grew up with Harry and this world.

Still waiting for that letter JK?

and on the note of the letter lets move to the list…

No.5 – Hogwarts School Acceptance Letter

Letter

I have genuinely been waiting for this letter since I was 9 years old, every time I get post a part of me stills hopes that it is in there & I am what I have always known; a Witch.

I love the fact that just like a muggle, Wizards and Witches receive School Acceptance letters through the post, albeit Owl post but post all the same.

For me, this is what JK does best, slightly blurs the line between muggle and wizarding world so it all seems so believable, and this is one example of how she does that.

Also – the ‘No Post on Sundays’ scene is just incredible & one of my all time favourites.

No.4 – Horcruxes (I can’t choose just one)

Hor

  • Tom Riddles Diary
  • Marvolo Gaunts Ring
  • Salazar Slytherin’s Lockett
  • Hega Hufflepuffs Cup
  • Rowena Ravenclaws Diadem
  • Nagini the Snake
  • Harry Potter

Firstly the word Horcrux is just a fantastic word & I think that in itself deserve some recognition. I associate it with anything evil now.

The plot story of H,H & R hunting & destroying the horcruxes is brilliant but what I love most about the Horcruxes is this:

  • Tom Riddles initial intrigue into the Dark Arts when questioning Slughorn
  • that he has place a part of himself into something
  • what he has to do in order to put himself into them
  •  Harry himself is a horcrux

SO CLEVER & DARK. The Dark Arts interest me so much & this is the one subject I would LOVE to have studied at Hogwarts… any shock that I am Slytherin? ๐Ÿ˜‰

No. 3- Golden Egg

egg

The Golden Egg is amazing & is a part of my most memorable and one of my favourite scenes in the books.

The imagery of the prefect bath was just beautiful,  huge pool like bath, the different colour watered, the gold and jewelled taps and all the bath products you could want. Then the opening of the egg under the water and the merpeople’s song – this to me at 11/12 was just so magical and I remember it more than any other imagery in the book.

No.2 – Tales of Beadle the Bard

beedle

Now, the Golden Egg Bath Scene was my favourite from the books then The Tales of Beedle the Bard is my favourite from the films.

I love anything origin based & that gives context to the main narrative plot, so the use of this book to describe the Hallows & what they are was amazing – the cloak, the stone and the wand all made sense.

For me the hauntingly beautiful animation of The Tale of the Three Brothers and Emma Watson’s voice over was nothing but stunning and hands down my favourite scene from the films. It was perfect.

No.1 – Penseive

I love the idea of a pensieve, being able to take your memories and look back on them – if I could have one thing from the Potter series it would be this.

Snape is me absolute favourite character and being able to see his origin from his memories is amazing. The truth about who he is, that he has always protected Harry and his love for Lilly is my favourite sub plot of the story.

This is my favourite passage from the series, a beautiful description of what love is. It means so much that my Sister in Law did a reading of it at mine and Dans wedding.

Always.

There are so many other wonderful things from Harry Potter that I could talk about for hours on end but I had to pick 5 and these to me have meaning behind why I love them.

Don’t forget to check out Quina’s post!

What are your favourite artefacts from Harry Potter?

  1. How cool we both chose the golden egg, and literally the pensieve was on my list until I switched it last minute.

    I love your choices!

By the way, I love the animated scene of The Tale of the Three Brothers as well! It is genius and beautifully created and depicted.

Thank you for collaborating with me ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I know I love that we had the egg – it’s just so beautiful!
Haha how funny I also switched the time turner out last minute – it was a really hard list to compile.

That scene is just stunning isn’t it.

You’re welcome – I really enjoyed it, we will have to do it again with something else ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. I love this post (just re-reading the series for the…lost count how manyeth time) and that you also share a passion for a Harry Potter, like myself! That Snape passage is such a beautiful part of the whole story…
I have to admit, I don’t think I could narrow it down to five things…I keep thinking of one, then another, then another…I’d end up with about 100 items on my list ๐Ÿ˜‚ Buuuuuuut…my favourite book is Prisoner of Azkaban so needless to say the Marauders Map and the back story of Moony, Padfoot, Prongs and Wormtail is one of pure genius!!!
